just wanted to give an update, i just picked up my car from the dealer after i had to take it to them because of a message "PSM Failure". Apparently the problem was a bit more serious that i had previously thought

they had to replace the:

• brake vaccum unit
• brakeservo
• way -sensor
• bleed brake system

and this was on a car with only 50 miles at time of failure!!
But thankfully they fixed it and gave me a nice cayenne loaner instead of a honda.

youre lucky i got a Porsche taurus for loaner, haha good youre all fixed, now go enjoy the car remember the break-in period

 

i know im pretty lucky, and because the loaner had 7,000 miles i was able to release all of my "waiting for break-in" frustration!!

i joked to the service manager that if my car has more problems then he has to give me a carrera as a loaner...

 

that;s why never buy demos

 

just browsing and got to wondering....I just love the Cayenne but reliability wise I am totally questioning this model. Currently have a 996 TT (love it and no problems) but may also need a 4x4....there seem to problem after problem. It's not comforting to read some of the issues. anyone with any comments, feel free....

 

mine had some minor issues like everyone elses.
the wheel vibraation, PCM replaced.
but still content. I want another Porsche soon.
They are addicting.

dont make your decision based on mechanical troubles or not... If you like the car then buy it, cuz all i can say is that its an amazing car. And if you buy it new then u will have 4 yr warranty so it wont cost you anything if the car has mechanical troubles. But i think the benefits outweigh the perceived risk in owning a Cayenne.

 

I have only had mine for 5 or 6 weeks............ like you had some concerns; but after driving it could not think of a better daily driver. so far, I'm loving it.
