Guys, how do I remove the ashtray? I know you can slide the switch and eject the actual metal part that would be used for ashes, but Im looking to remove the whole sliding tray/door, because my cigarette lighter no longer "pops" up, and is kinda rattling around, so I want to replace the spring or whatever lifts it up and keeps in firmly in place when close.

Take trim off around the radio and you can remove it completely after that is done, I believe it's held in by screws. I removed mine many years ago and replaced it with a storage drawer.

 

Awesome, thank you. I did some searching and found the same, remove the bezel around the head unit and hvac, pull out three hvac unit by releasing metal clips on each side of it, the you Will find 2 screws holding it in.
Ill report back on what i find concerning the spring mechanism for the 12volt outlet.
What wad the name of the storage drawer you bought, sounds useful.
