I am new to the forum. I just purchased a very clean low mile 2004 Cayenne. I expect some up front work and long term needs due to it's age. On my immediate to do list is repairing or replacing the non-functioning key fob. I have a fair amount of PCB design and fabrication experience, so I opened the case up and inspected my PCB. I was not the first, someone else has opened the case and modified the PCB. The trunk microswitch was missing, as were two SMT components. I suspect that the missing component near the power circuit was a capacitor and the missing component near the antenna (obviously intentionally removed) was a resistor.
I cleaned up the battery pad and moved the unused center micro switch to the missing truck lid switch location, I also resoldered the lock microswitch. I tested the micro switches (all good) and reassembled but it still does not work and my alarm still sounds whenever I unlock the Cayenne.
Does anyone have a clear picture of a matching PCB so I can determine what the missing components were and try to replace them to see if the remote will work? Or do you know what they were? Failing this, any other ideas for replacement or any ideas why the alarm is sounding (until inserted into the ignition) despite using the key to unlock? I don't want to disable the alarm but I would not care too much if I need to open unlock the door/hatch manually as long as I can do so without setting the alarm off.
Pictures attached show the missing components and the added diode.
