Any problem installing Fabspeed cat bypass?

I just received bypass pipe today and got so excited.
However, Porsche dealer called me and let me checked the problem area.

According to Fabspeed, it's direct bolt-on application. However, the fitment of bypass was way off from factory holes. Also, the triangle plate didn't match at all.

Is spec. any different between 'turbo' and 'S'?
In my understanding...NO.

I'm going to ship this back to Fabspeed tomorrow and get a new set that works on mine.

Any trouble shooting to any1? or is it just me or any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Eric

The turbo bypass and NA bypass pipes are not the same and completely different in length, bends, ect...It is direct bolt on if you bought the right ones...

Fabspeed called me today...
He sounded like a mechanic...

"You need some muscle to put them on your car, needs to stretch here and there..."

Didn't they say 'direct bolt on and off?'
They sent me the right parts but actual product didn't fit at all cause the flange was up side down.
No way of doing bolt on and off. (Is this happened to me only?)
So, our mechanic did some custom work and installed today.
I wasn't happy with the application of product and quality but the result was goooood.
I noticed a big sound difference over 3000rpm with window and sun-roof down...
I'm also waitting for Cargraphic's exhaust system. (Thanks Erik)

make sure they didnt send you two rights. They did that to me, and although it seemed like it may fit, it didnt, and they had to send me a left side as well. They looked almost the same, just a tad off. That is more than likely the problem.

This thread may sounds like put Fabspeed's reputation down but tha's BIG no, no, no,...
I just don't want other forum members to go through same confusion as I did.
As I said, the result was goooood.
This was my first bolt on mod on 06 S. (beside pedals and clear corner lights)
I got so excited didn't want to wait any minutes to try this bad boy.
My first attemp at Porsche dealer failed.
As most people know, dealer is not flexible with after market parts when it comes to mod., then I found a good muffler shop and which completed the job perfectly.

In a few days, I will have my Cargraphic's exhaust system. <----I can not wait on this.
Big thanks to Erik at Cargraphic!
That was my first pay pal transaction and walked me through perfectly.

Tom - Fabspeed sent my parts very fast and I know they are good people. They followed up my e-mail very quick.

renntech36 - They sent me 2 different pipes. It was not a same pair.

Rockitman,

You are Fabsolutely right.
'S' and 'tt' is different.
Also, they sent me right pipe EXECPT, one of pipe's flenge was upside down where you can not bolt-on to stock pipe!
I don't know if they sent me the wrong one or what?
I just didn't want to wait and my mechanic had to cut out the stock's flenge put them on Fabspped one.
It sounds odd...I wish Fabspeed check their product before they ship out.
Just to pay Xtra installation fee bothered me a bit but I like the result.
Oh! can Fabspeed pay my extra installation fee?

Eric

***red circle was problem. it wasn't just little off. it was totally upside down.

How much for a cargraphic exhaust? Does it improve response and sound? Will it fit a V6?

Ask Erik@cargraphic he is nice person. I got the last one on their list according to Erik.
I'm sure they have V6 version. If not get Gemballa...

Sounds and response?...hmmmm...I would say you notice big sound just above 3000rpm and beyond-with bypass and muffler.
However, you are not going to get BIG power out of it.
I did it cause like to hear and feel the sound and engine.
Thesedays, my stereo volume is set at no more than +2(stock)...
I'm waitting to get evoms V-flow and evoms ECU at the same time.(still no word from evoms 'Group buy')
I would say you will notice little gain after all those.
Don't expect to have huge gain from 'S' or 'V6' based on what you do, it's not 'tt'.

I should gone for 'tt'...

Eric
