rotors and pads

I'm in need of front rotors and pads. Is there a cheaper place to get the pads than the dealer? I'm getting crossdrilled rotors of off ebay so why not get pads as well. Are there differences in the v6,S,Turbo rotors?

S & TT rotors are the same, not sure about the V6 rotors. I believe there is dealer in Oregon that does 10% over cost. So no tax and a discount is your best bet for OEM

S and Turbo use same rotor. V6 use smaller size.

If you dont mind my asking, how much is the mileage & how did you know you need new pads & rotors? I only have 17,000 kms. on my CS, the brakes make noise, especially in traffic, but the dealer tells me they are just fine & when they need to be replaced, the info. display will tell you that. Regarding noise, it's driving my crazy but they say that the P's have performance brakes & noise is normal.

My sensors when off at 21K miles, I replaced all pads and did not replace the rotors. There was little wear on the rotors so it wasn't needed. Dealers are told by Porsche to replace the rotors as well, mainly because of possible squeel and they don't suggest having them turned either. If your brakes are constantly making noise at each stop, I would ***** enough for them to replace the pads & rotors, that is not normal for them to make noise.
