Considering Cayenne... little advice please?

Hi,

I'm considering a Cayenne S, possibly Turbo. Definately will be black/black, Nav, heated seats, tow hitch, sunroof, memory seats.

I'm considering basic wheels since I'll be upgrading. My main question, what other options are "must haves"? I need the hitch because I have a Ski Nautique that I'll need to tow, factory hitch is best I'm sure but has anyone gone aftermarket?

Also, TechArt seems to be the choice, any other URL's that you can share to other body kits?

I'm really linking the Cayenne. #1 being that it meets the >6,000lb GVWR (tax reasons). I love the look, it's like my SC430 in that it polarizes people, they love it or hate it...

My 2003 Denali has turned out being a huge mistake. 14K miles and the front differential went out (14 days in shop) and the damned thing rattles like skeletons screwing on a tin roof..

Finally, the dealer (Rusnak in Westlake Village) pretty much says minimal discounts on "S" an absolutely none on the Turbo.. Anybody in So.Cal find out otherwise?

Go to another dealer. I got my Turbo when they first came out and got over $7000 off MSRP. That was when they were first out and hard to find Turbos. My dealer here in VA has about 10 S's and 3 Turbos sitting on the lot.

Another must have option i think is the front and rear senors.... It helps a lot in very tight spaces!

The PASM-Air Suspension is a must have item for the S. Electric and comfort pack is second and Servotronic is the third. If you are planning on upgrading your wheel my suggestion would be keep the stock 18" for snow tire (if you happen to live in area which snows), if not, depends on the wheel you like to upgrade to you might either want to move up to the 19" & 20" Porsche offering or trade the standard 18" with aftermarket people. Cheers !

Having a hard time posting for some reason. Basically just over $77K

Not sure about all the options, buy NAV, hitch CD Changer and Air susp are must haves.

I figure $150 for a wheel upgrade isn't bad and may payoff later. I'll be going with either HRE's or TechArt 20" or possibly 22". Also, it looks like a 2005 may be the best choice. I've had 5 Lexus cars and they have been stellar. After reading about some of the little gremlins, a few more months is no biggie. Sept/Oct isn't that far off.

I suppose I could special order, but I wouldn't imagine the price would be very negotiable. Right?

Nice to be here, seems like a nice friendly place where owners are willing to speak frankly about their cars, good and bad.

In my opnion, the Roll Up Sun screen is a waste of money since it covers only the side and not the back. Should it be covering the rear sun screen, I would definitely go for it. Actually, as a driver, will the sun shinning against the rear window really affect you in any way. I would also pass on any offroad package as for one, we won't be taking the Pepper offroad, and for second it is otherwise damaging the look of the Pepper. The current Black added fender protection and Black Rubber on the lower side skit is ugly in my opnion. The Sport Seat is a good option as the added contour support is beneficial for fast speed driving.

The entry and drive is also a waste of money since it also requires you to carry the key. Unlike the one on the Mercedes where all you have to do is to carry a card which you can put into your wallet. If you are carrying the key anyway, would it make any material difference if your press the button on the key to unlock vs. simply pulling on the handle. For myself I have also opted for this option until I learned the truth. There is a dummy key in the ignition where you have to turn it (similar to a real key but very different than pressing a button on the Mercedes or Touareg). Hence, I advise saving on this opntion and spending on others. I would also pass on the 4 zone A/C as its' actual benefit is minimal. Cheers ! & Happy Cayenning !
