Looking to buy Cayenne Turbo, have questions
I'm looking to purchase a Cayenne Turbo and have questions.
Do certain models not have the chrome molding around the windows and not have a roof rack? If so, which? I'd prefer without.
What are the top 10 faults with this SUV? I see prior messages about the air suspension issues and electrical problems. Maybe it's a certain year that had an issue. My local dealer is an hour a way so service will be my first issue.
Has anyone coverted a non turbo to turbo?
The turbo model has a distinct front bumber that's different than non trubo's, correct? Are there other cosmitic differences over the turbo and nonturbo?
How is the new Turbo S putting out 520 verse the non-S at 450 HP? What was done to the engine and can the non-S be upgraded to the 520hp easily?
Thanks,

the molding trims are not chrome but brushed alu look. black trim is an option. roof rack is an option as well. there's also a roof rail.
no problem on our Cayenne Turbo except some minor rattle noise.
spending money convert a non turbo to a turbo is not a smart thing to do. u're in the market for one so buy the one u're looking for.
there's 2 bumper design. Cayenne & Cayenne S share the same bumper while the Turbo has a different design. the hood is different as well. other small thing like exhaust tips etc.
different programming & intercooler from factory. the Turbo S also has upgraded front brakes etc. if u get the Turbo u can upgrade the ECU by GIAC also other goodies.
happy hunting!

I'm not looking to make it "look" like a turbo, but to perform that same if not better.
I'm guessing these are 100% reliable SUVs since I had not heard otherwise.
My closest dealer quoted $6k off the $104k msrp. That didn't sound like a great offer. What are people paying for new CTT?

You will not be able to get the S to out power the Turbo, like others have said get the turbo if that's what you are looking for and get the S if your looking for an S.
Have you looked into CPO Cayennes you can save some money and get 2-3 years on the CPO warranty.

stay away from 03/04 models.
Some top problems are:
exterior moldings wear badly
rear insignia wears badly
interior alumium look pieces scratch and wear easily
ignition coils crack on 03/04 models new part # is 948-602-104-01
rear hatch problems - either it opens for no reason or won't stay up when open
electrical issues, signal light indicators not working correctly, e-brake indictor on when the e-brake is not activated, lights burn out to early, dip beam indicator going off for now reason.
radio/dvd player goes wonkie.

Discounts
All those discounts you guys are posting ($ 10K off or $ 20K off) are all on the 06 leftover models. As far as I know we as dealers are not really discounting the 2008 models. Dealers that are giving big discounts are stupid. They have no faith in the product or market. The new models are not even here! Porsche announced at the dealer launch that I attended, that they will slow production if they see the market go towards discount again. It is not good for the brand. So ultimately not good for our customers. We don't want to see Porsche end up being another Mercedes-Benz or BMW kind of brand.

Porsche should have a better control of its dealer network. if one dealer is doing it then it screws up the whole thing. u can't blame for people shopping for the best price because that's human natural. only way to do it is to lower the profit margin from the inside then eventually the market will stablize. i hope they see that soon if not now. i love the brand & don't want to see it goes to ****hole.
