Test drove 2008 Cayenne

Hey guys,

I am in Panama City, Panama for spring break and went to the P-dealer to test drive the new V6 Cayenne (my mom will buy one). Because the car had less than 100kms i didnt really floor it but my initial impressions were ok. The car felt just as fast (in terms of acceleration) as my 2006 V6, but i figured that it will feel faster once it has atleast 5,000-6,000 kilometers. Car was very quiet and didnt really sound as aggressive or loud as my 2006 (perhaps also a mileage issue).

Overall the car is pretty cool but i honestly wouldnt recommend current V6 owners to uprgade to the new V6. If you will upgrade go for a used Cayenne S (or Turbo) or get a 2008 V8 model.!!

regards,

BD

I saw a CTT for the first time at Inskip Porsche in Rhode Island... wow I loved it...Full option Basalt Black with 21's (MSRP 112k)... wheels looked massive and exhaust tips looked larger than in the pics... Im in love.... cant wait for mine now... eta 25 days The salesman said no discounts since they are not getting many in for while... So I guess my 5k off MSRP was not so bad after all...

Saw that machine at Inskip also, when we picked upo musselkar's Rs. Looks great with the 21" wheels & new fenders. Might trade the S for one. These things really seem to tank on resale though.

I couldnt agree with you more... but so do most high end SUVs... look at the Range Rover Supercharged, MSRP 96k but you can pick a used one up with less than 10,000 miles in the low 70's... I figure I pay 105k today and in 3 years it will hopefully be worth somewhere in the 55-60k range (with maybe 40,000 miles)... depreciation is a ***** What part of Mass you from??

Saw both a CS and CTT inperson, Interior hasnt been changed; I am aiming either for a G55K AMG or a ML63 AMG as an alternative to my Cayenne, the dealership over here are very bad and when I tell thim to fix something they give me something spoiled, Lately the fixed both the panaromic roof and voice control and they gave me the car and it had bad cd sound qualtiy [ distortion] and the Navigation Unit doesnt work, I gave them the car with Navigation working propperly and so did the CD.

Have my 08 cayenne turbo for about a week and a half. I really love the way the cars drives and handles. The PDCC in the car is amazing and does exactly what they say it would.I have the 21 inch tires and wheels and the handling in the snow is not as bad as I thought it would be. Has snowed 2x since I bought the turbo. This is by far the best SUV I have ever owned!!!!

any thoughts on the v6 vs the v8 s ??? I am considering just the cayenne and then installing 22's etc. I really dont need the speed in the street. I have my Fcar for that. I am just looking for a good reliable SUV. Either an 08 cayenne or a 05 mercedes e55. any thoughts ???
