Battery Problems? Anyone?

Hello!

Questions for Cayenne owners:

My brother and sister-in-law have a '05 V6 w/6-speed and is experiencing some nagging battery issues after leaving it sit for a couple of days. With key out of ignition and in the garage, the battery will be dead to the world after only two days or so. Dealer in Scottsdale replaced and said everything looked fine a couple of months back after it happened the first time. Then, two weeks ago, it happened again. Dealer is replacing battery one more time and claims all systems check out.

Anyone experiencing something similar? Thoughts? They are frustrated as they don't feel, for as little as two days away, a battery maintainer should need to be used. Obviously concerned the thing will strand them somewhere too.

Otherwise they absolutely love the Cayenne! Glad they do, because I recommended they consider it!

Anyhow, thanks for any insight you might have!

I've never had a battery issue, and mine has sat for nearly 3 weeks without being driven. Sounds like they need to keep it at the dealer with a amp meter on it to see where the draw is coming from.

Had the same thing - dud batteries. The new one which is the third one is good though - no issues.

Might they be leaving something on? Like a plugged in radar detector or cell phone charger that has a little light in it? Or maybe one of the rear reading lamps that you don't notice is left on unless you later look at the car in a completely dark garage?

I'll have them check, but I am fairly certain they have checked for the obvious. Dealer had it for a few days as well, so they tested things out.

Appreciate the comments and attention to this!

I have the same issue in my 997S, I bought a charger and that worked for a while but now it just dies after a short drive...

I thought i'd just buy a new battery and see how that works and if it doesn't, then bring the car in... Or should I just bring it in now and get it out of the way? If they do find that it's just the battery, will they give me a new battery or will I have to buy it?
