30,000km Service and other minor Problems

Hey guy's my August 2005 Build Cayenne S has just completed 30,000km of mileage and I just serviced it at the Local Porsche Service Centre.

Though I've got to say it was very reliable at first though only the Panaromic roof spoiled 2 times and the parking sensors were faulty when I recieved the car back in October 2005.

They wouldnt replace my rear CF ashtray as the warranty doesnt cover this, the employee states that someone stepped on it, I didnt feel its that important because I dont smoke nor the people who sit in the car.

One thing to note is that previously, last winter I went to some sand dune's and unleashed though it jumped around some dune's and nothing went wrong, however an employee at the dealership state's that my rear left rim is bent and it needs to be replaced for around 1,100 dollars for a 20" Sport Design wheel.

I didnt think its that necessary to change the rim, as one of my friends fixed his wheels in a specialist shop that has a process of welding etc.

So, I would like to ask you is a bent rim fixable without replacing the rim?

Thank you in advance,

Mohammed.

I do know about the rin Mohammed, but our '04 Cayenne S will GO.

Water pump fix with less than 17K....are you kidding me?

Front Turning Light signal works when wants, dealer and my walet has try to fix.....no solution... does not work...and will not work.

We think although we love the Cayenne, we may not get another one.. what to get??? I do know...

Lol!

They told me that two of my wheels were bent and all of my tires needed to be replaced at 10,000km! I took the wheels to Michelin (Canada Dry - Ask for Niko). They did a full test on the GPS9700 .. then I took the bent rim to Ma5ratat Al-Salem (Oxygen roundabout) and they straightened them out.

I got another 10,000km out of the tires .. and tracked them! They still have life left in them for the next GulfRun.

This is the dealerships way of making extra cash .. they told my cousins the same thing (bent rims).

Mishref I know about them and their stupid acts, I am feed up honestly with their bad service; as if they just want to sell cars and not even care about their customers. I was considering a 997 Turbo in the long term but after I've experienced their crappy service I dont want one.

Mishref,How much did you pay to get the bent rim fixed?

Yes, I've double checked about welding and bending the wheels manually. It seems that one of my friends has done this to his car and it drives perfectly normal and if he hasnt informed me then I wouldnt even know it had been fixed.

Hopefully I will get my Cayenne S tommorow and then take it to get the rear left wheel fixed.

Thank's to those who responded.

Mishref thank you for the suggestion. I went there got my wheels fixed and balanced by the Al Salam ma5rata,however their balancing machine wasnt that great so tomorow I might go to Michelin to get my two rear wheels balanced properly.
