Cayenne S owners...need some help.

I noticed a line through the instrument panel on my wifes' CS. I asked the dealer and they told me this was on all the CS' they've seen - to me it looks like that line is burned out...am I going nuts? Could have sworn this just happened. Pic attached. Thanks in advance!

I don't have that line on my display. Looks like either a bad display or connection. Is it under warranty?

Definitely under warranty (bought the car in Nov.) - this pisses me off since the dealer blatantly lied to me. Sweet...

I haven't had a German car the display hasn't gone belly-up in. Have them change the entire thing, the connection is loose on the back. Pretty soon it's gonna act up even more.

I have my dealer replacing my entire instrument cluster b/c the digital read out of the gear selected and the speed is burning out--the pixels disappear the longer i drive or the warmer it is.

I took it in and said i want a new instrument cluster b/c of it and they have it on order.

lol, it looks like the common BMW problem.
the insturmental cluster that displays it is notoriously bad in bmws.
i never had that issue on my cayenne.

Funny, my cluster DOES have the exact same line running above the MPH, although i bought mine used with 15k on the clock. However, my cluster needs to ber replaced because the trip odometer wont reset back to 0. It's being replaced in 2 weeks so ill see if the new one has the line or not and keep u guys posted.

OOOOPS, if your talking about the one above the estimated range ill check and get back to you, although I think it has it also

Fully agree, this is such a common issue on BMW's they should issue you a spare with any new car purchase.

I have an 06 CS and I had that line when I got the car new in October of 2006... I always thought that line was normal and part of the display since when you start the car the "Porsche" logo ends exactly on that line. Dammit.

So you guys are saying that that line shouldn't be there? Sigh I should take my car to the dealer then.

OK, so I checked my display and I to have the line and always thought it was normal. Like I said before, the cluster is gonna get replaced anyway due to the trip odometer so I'll see what happens

Mine has a line too.

It's probably normal as I've noticed it since the day I bought it new.

Above the line you get two colors, red and yellow. Below the line is yellow only so it kinda makes sense that there is some kind of boundary.
