I just turned 40K miles in my '04 CTT and I am starting to hear what seems to be bearing noise (thum,thum,thum) from the front driver side. I can especially hear it coasting in neutral.

Anyone had a similar thing happen? I'm getting ready to take it to the dealer (of course it's under warranty).

 

My wife says she has heard something similar to what you are
describing, but I have not heard it first hand.

 

Any updates on this after your visit to the dealer?

 

My schedule has been hectic so I haven't made it to the dealer yet.

Possibly driveshaft, center bearing was notorious for coming apart in the 03s and early 04s, noise would, in theory, become louder as speed increased, noticeable at speeds as low as 20mph.
