Depends on what you are looking for in the unit. The Valentine one is an excellent product no doubt, but it is still a dash mounted unit. Wheras the K40 is completley concealed. Performance is a bit better with the K40 in my opinion, but I am a bit biased as they are all I have ever owned or installed.

I heard K40's performance is actually pretty bad. I have always used V1 and love it. If you want, you can have the V1 mounted in your rear view mirror for a hidden and flush look. Hope this helps.

My dealer said the K-40 thing costs around 2 grand.... so i said screw that its not worth paying that much for a concealed detector ur better off getting escort or v1

As with anything, eveyone has a personal preference. As I said, I have always used K40. In 8 years I have seen one person get a speeding ticket with their products, and that was due to a sensor malfunction that was replaced free of charge, as well as reimbursment for the ticket. As for 2 grand, that is a bit steep. I usually sell them in the 1,300-1,700 range depending on the led locations. Just my .02

The price is prob high because the dealer sends it to another shop to have it done and of course the dealer wants to make some profit out of it

DEETZ,

Who hardwired your V1? Sound in Motion? Also, how much did you pay for it to be done?

Thanks!

Which group does the V1 in the mirror and does the best job. I've heard one the administrators of the board had a mirror kit and it shorted and smoked? Anyone with the real product and using it? I love the V1 in my 996TT and would like to do the mirror for the Cayenne.
