Must have options for 2011
Must have options for 2011
Hi guys,
Im considering a Cayenne V6 and am wondering if you seasoned Cayenne pro's can give me your feedback on which options are absolutely necessary, and which are nice to have, and also the ones that are useless in your opinions.
This car will be in So. Cal. so the winter stuff isnt needed, and its not going to be doing any off roading either.
I am considering just getting the convenience package.

Need to know your preferences? Comfort or sport?
If comfort: pano, full leather, 14 way seats, comfort package, pdcc, PTV.
If sport: ceramics, pdcc, PTV, full leather, sport package, convience package/comfort.

Please check threads over the past three months in your free time. We've discussed this quite a bit.
You can go broke checking off all options. Wide array of options to choose from for it to be luxurious (full leather, 14 way seats, heated front and back row seats, 4-zone climate control, pana roof for an atrium like effect), sporty (PASM, Air suspension, PTV and if $$ allow PDCC) and safe (back-up camera, lane change assist, adaptive cruise control).
At the very minimum I say go for full leather, PASM, air-suspension and if aesthetics are important a little bigger wheels (like 19 or 20 inches).

Options are such a personal choice, really tough to say what's a must have. How does that saying go... One man's garbage is another man's treasure. Doesn't exactly fit, but you get my drift.
My 6 should be here tomorrow, I ordered the Prem package, ext in high gloss black, 19 turbo wheels, and entry/drive. If I could do it again, I would likely add PASM based on all that I've learned in the past few months on these forums and either swap for the Prem+ package or just add the reversing camera since some have mentioned the rear view is limited. Who knows, maybe I wouldn't change a thing. It's really a personal preference, and tough to say. As w00t mentioned, its easy to go broke checking every box or justify stepping up to a CS, but it's definitely a great part of the fun in shopping for a Cayenne. Any way you slice it, it'll be a great ride!
Good luck!

I was so twisted up choosing options, I probably ordered way too many. I would have really liked to have walked into the showroom seen a combination I liked and said "yea I'll take that"...but no such luck with CTT's. But when faced with the order sheet my 'must haves' was 21" wheels and power side curtains crazy as that sounds...and now that the painted surface packages for rockers and wheel wells seems to be available, that would be my first choice (after 21" wheels)...whcih to me are the perfect size for the body of a Cayenne.
I ordered a V6 Cayenne for my wife. The truck's build will be be completed on 2/28 and take delivery end of march. Ended up getting:
V6 Cayenne
8 Speed Tiptronic
Entry/Drive
Aluminim trim package
Aluminum kick plates
19" Turbo wheels
XM radio
Premium Package Plus
14 way power seats with memory
Panorama Roof
thanks,

are you sure about the painted surface packages being available?

its really hard to tell you whats a must have,
on the V6 the sunroof is 1200, the panorama is 600 more... if u go with sunroof id say spend the extra and get panorama.
the LED lighting is really nice and very customizable, $250
memory seats are only $380... cheap and useful
trim black out is only $150 but doesnt include the trunk trim unless u have a black car.
if your doing NAV you might as well do the first package because it has NAV and bunch of other stuff for just a lil more than NAV alone.
servo is only $270 which is cheap
id just say go thru the online thing and read all the descriptions and have a note pad with a "need" and a "Want" list.

(which has sunroof as std), but if you chose the pana roof it adds 1800$ on top of the Prem. Pkg. plus which is 10k and some change.
*this is with Porsche Config.
If you do this individual option like sunroof vs. pana then yes, it's 600$s more.
but to add to your input, you are 100% right on the option list of what to get etc.
I tried this and didn't work for me. i am looking at prem. pkg one

if a package has sunroof and you want panoramic.. you have to buy the sunroof again... same if package has 14 way and u want 18 way... cheaper to bump to next package (nice trick porsche)
Raja
so it will say "heated front" , "heated front and rear" so for the 5620$ package u click front, otherwise add's 1050 for both.
