Early 2011 Build vs. Late 2011 Build

might be more insider info... but does anyone know if an early vs. late 2011 build is any different? I mean i know some options become standard (e.g. rear airbags) and the prices change a bit, but how about the things that aren't on the surface? like if they know there's a little problem here and there but don't get around to fixing it until after launch.

anyone know about instances of this in the past?

Also what's people's thoughts about buying a first year production car? I know for BMW most customers like to wait a year or two for BMW to work out the kinks, i assume it's the same for porsche as well? anything think that the 2012 will be a lot more reliable than the 2011?

Has anyone had any major reliability issues with their 2011 Cayennes? We have had an absolutely flawless ownership experience...and ours is an early 2011 model Turbo. Don't think there is a widespread reliability problem with the new generation (have not heard of any major issues), and therefore don't think there is any reason to delay a purchase based on this. Porsche is no BMW .
I also had a 2009 C4S cab (first year of the PDK, facelift) with also no problems at all. Drove that car for almost 21,000 miles, and drove it hard. No issues. I think these cars are pretty bulletproof, but just my experience. We are now on our 5th Porsche and have loved them all. No issues.

ManMachine is on a distinguished road
Depends on how many miles you plan to accumulate on the vehicle. Later year models are usually more reliable for sure. Reliability evaluation only becomes meaningful after 60K miles.
