2011 Cayenne A/C Question
That's a good question. The dealer did tell me that for the past few weeks since the fix came out they have been doing the fix on all of the 958 Cayennes that come in for service as well as on arriving new cars. I would think that Porsche would incorporate the fix on new production as soon as they can if they haven't already.
Thank you so much for taking the time to post this. I am going to ask my dealer about it within a few days. I have to revisit them because my comfort memory is still doing strange things.
You're very welcome. Good luck with getting your dealer to address this. If you need to have your dealer talk to mine, PM me.
Thanks jfr0317, saved me a trip to the dealer! I was having the exact same problem since day one and just yesterday noticed my ventilated seat turned off as well.
For the DIYers:
Take a flashlight and look into vent.
Insert 4 bamboo cooking skewers into the inside of the 4 clips, releasing the pressure from them.
Pull out vent and take out skewers, no need to disconnect the wiring harness.
Lay a towel on the console and set vent on it.
Place felt as described (I used some foam stickers donated by my daughter) under the clips. Razor blade a slit and push clip through.
Push vent back into place.
Total time less than 5 minutes start to finish.

Trust me, I was motivated to get this fixed as the Cayenne S is my wife's principal car!
I will ask my service manager about this tomorrow when I am at the dealership for their Coffee & Cars event and will report back to you.

Anyways the fix works well for me keeping me nice and cool when it's 105F outside.
Considering he said the fix takes all of a max of 20 minutes, it seems like your dealer should be willing to do it just to make you happy. It's not like the adhesive- backed felt costs a lot of money (more like 10 cents).
Good luck getting it done.
I spoke with my service manager this morning, and he said there is no specific recall campaign or service action, but that Porsche had asked its dealers to perform the fix as a customer accommodation. He also said that all of the local Porsche reps had brought their own vehicles in for the fix.

edit: just lit a fire w/ them...they're taking the car on thursday. I'll report back. Hopefully this fixes it! And its not VIN specific. Thanks for your help JFR!

had this fix done yesterday. Its night and day. I now drive around with the temp set to 72 and its pefect! Before the fix, i would need to keep the temp at 66. I recommend this to all owners who even have the slightest concern with the performance of their A/C!
Excellent! Glad you were able to get your dealer to step up and do the fix!
