Annoying problem with the 2011 CTT
Annoying problem with the 2011 CTT
Was wondering if anyone is having the same issue as me? I keep on getting 2different messages randomly after driving for a long period of time (40min+)
1st message is Battery consumer switch protection on. No clue what this is, but happens either when I turn on the car or after a long period of driving. Air Condition shuts off while driving and can't be turned on unless I restart the car. Gets annoying when driving in 90+ weather on the freeway and have to pull over to get my AC back on.
2nd message is Auto Start/Stop function deactivated. I disabled the feature since day 1 of owning the car, but after driving for a while, the message appears. When the message comes on, the fans on the car goes crazy and it sounds like a Jet engine. Can't activate or deactivate the auto start/stop function. Again becomes ok after I shut the car off.
The car has been to the dealer 2 times for the problem and it still occurs. 1st time they couldn't duplicate the problem. 2nd time when the message came on, I drove straight to the dealership. They blamed it on the hardwired radar detector I had, so we took that out. Now it is still happening. I have one of the earlier 2011 TT and have 20,000 miles so far. Wondering if anyone is experiencing the same thing?

I had the same issue right before my belt came off ( long story tech made a mistake). Have them take off the belt and inspect it all the way around. You cannot see it unless it is taken off. IF the belt is off just a little bit you will have problems
Only time I saw the message"battery protection on"was one morning after having left the low beams on all night
I did not mind it, cause when i turned the fob,my pepper started right away with that lovely throaty rumble
