EasternLI is infamous around these parts
maybe i should try and buy the housing for the bulb from Porsche and then get an aftermarket ballast, seems risky though especially since anything from Porsche is going to be $$$

I wouldn't want to grind or modify the acutal bulb housing. I would rather play with the adapter bracket and modify that. (couple bucks vs $$$)

Try using a relay harness.

Ah I misunderstood your question. Yeah, can definitely modify the bulb housing. The bulbs are cheap.

I haven't thought about relay harness, although I do have an "error eliminator" (does not work) installed in it.

I wonder if u can use the D2S bulb along with the adapter to lock it in place. Then find a connector for it?
(D2 connector to amp style connector to the ballast)

if one side of the light doesnt come on, the ballast is not getting enough juice to fire up the bulb. I heard HID need alot more juice to fire up then regular halogen bulb.
The relay will definite solved the problem. If the one side still doesnt fire up, i suspect a ballast issue. Did u guys swap the ballast to the other side?

Both sides fire up. I think you are right in saying that there is a difference in the amount of current or draw that the HID need vs the standard hallogen. The ECU can detect that additional difference and it throws the check dipped beam error to protect itself. (thats my unprofessional theory)

The check dip beam error only appear if the hid bulb didn't fire up. Right?
If both side fire up does the error mesage appear?
If no error message appear, is a powering issue. The relay harness will solve the problem.

Both sides fire up, and then turn off and error appears.

The red wire to the battery, black wire to a ground. Is very simple.

Ddm tuning have the wiring harness for $15.00.

Remove the headlight you will see the grounding connection.

You can run the positive side wiring inside the driver side fender.

To connect the passenger side ballast and oem connection, remove the center trim panel covering the radiator and run it along the radiator.

Nice clean install and the relay harness completely hidden.
(I also used a relay harness for my HID conversion for the fog lights)
