Need help with clear corner installation

Can anyone who has installed the clear corners on the 2011+ Cayennes offer a little help on getting the original orange lens detached from the car? I cannot get it to budge out of place after moving the safety clip! Ugh. Thanks in advance.

The front pointy part is held in place with a clip as you can see on the clears, this a pain to get out. I have used both of these tools: a plastic wedge tool or a flat head screwdriver wrapped once (twice will make it too thick) with a microfiber, pushed in the bottom of the lens towards the front and push in and down on the handle, popping the front out. Once the front is out, the back will follow, just wiggle it.

After figuring this out, I didnt have to bother taking apart the wheel well part.

Perfect instructions! Using your method, it literally took me 5 minutes to do both lenses and I didn't have to bother with taking the wheel well insulation out. Thank you!

In another post somewhere in here, someone mentioned that their dealer told them all you had to do was pop it off with a screwdriver, but no one wanted to be the Guinea Pig.

Good to see that it does work. I went with the tad more difficult method of removing front wheel liners, still that process only took about 20 minutes for both side .

Clear corners just arrived and getting ready to give this a try. Anybody else had luck with the screwdriver/microfiber install? Any more advice?

Thanks

I did mine following this post!!! At the beginning, I spend 30mins trying to figure it out myself (and I only got to the point of removing the wheel liner and struggling to pop the marker out) but after I read this post, I did both sides in less then 30mins!!!

FYI, have a set of your desire light bulbs ready and change it at the same time!! Otherwise like myself I have to do it twice!!!

Thanks for the DIY on this type of removal. The using of a flat head screwdriver with microfiber seems much easier so if someone has the ability to post a DYI for the easier method I am sure many of us would appreciate it.

I just removed mine in a matter of 4 minutes.

Simply took a small flat blade screwdriver, and used a microfiber towel to use as a glove to the blade. Put it right at the point of the front of the marker and pryed out gently. The light came forward and I reset the tool and towell. Insert a little deeper and popped the front clip out. Wiggled the rear out by hand.

Imagine that 1/2 inch from the front and rear of the light there are small clips that drive into the bumper. That is what you are removing.

It went off without a hitch. Now, where are my amber bulbs.

Mike
