I ordered the compass option on a new turbo but it arrived with the clock instead. dealer said that clock is now standard, which i understand... but was under the impression that the compass was still an option and I told them to order it. any thoughts? do you know what it takes to swap the two? easy change? thx.

Compass is standard? You mean clock is now standard, right?

I don't think it will be an easy swap as you need proper software for things to work.

I have the compass in my 11 CS - i read that it's actually not a compass but just a device that has a servo driven by the GPS (drive in a circle a couple of times, as in driving down a few levels in a parking garage) and you see the digital reading go nuts, but the round analog part of the compass jsut freezes until your direction stabalizes a bit. I would be very interested to know if these are swappable - i'd take a clock over the compass any day.

Race3 - if you can figure out a way to easily swap these, i'll gladly trade you my compass for your clock.

if they can be swapped, then i would be happy to swap with you. i already have a clock on my dash display and the PCM display... so don't need another clock. having the compass with the altitude would be fun (i know I can show in the vehicle display, but then it limits other items you can show).

The clock face looks the same as the sport chrono package on other models.

It is also not so practical to use as a clock, the hour and minute hands are very short since it was designed as a stopwatch in the sport chrono package.

I noticed the new clock always resets back to 12 O'clock position with ignition off. So everytime the door is opened or something that triggers electrical to turn on, the clock will make these tick tick sound to get to the current time. Not sure why they can't just leave it at current time...

had my dash clock swamped for the compass today. it looks great and is more fun and useful than the clock. since i already have digital clocks on the pcm and multi function screen... i didn't need a third. and the compass turns, shows heading in degrees and also the altitude. i recommend it for anyone considering.
