Does Porsche or anybody makes a rear bumper protection to prevent scratching when loading stuff into the trunk? Similar to this black plastic on top of the x5 bumper.

I didn't see anything for the cayenne. So when I got the front film installed, I also did a strip on the back bumper.

 

Have one of the 'clear bra" people cover it. Looks better than rubber but probably won't protect from deep gouges.

 

I covered my rear bumper with PPF.

 

Covered the rear bunker with clear bra. BUT there is a rear cargo liner (that I also have), that when you have it on the side without the carpet, it's rubber. This same side also has a Velcro attached plastic/leather type flap that folds down over the rear bumper when you need to load.
Actually comes in VERY handy.

 

Saw a Touareg yesterday and it had a stainless steel piece on the bumper, similar to the front skid plate look. Can't believe Porsche wouldn't offer that when it's available on the Touareg. I might go check out a vw dealer to see if that piece would fit on the 958.

 

I was gonna also mention this, I have the reversible floor mat like jace, and it comes with a velcro-attached rubber flap that can be flipped out to protect the rear bumper. Personally, I like the look of the raw paint, and haven't even clear bra'ed mine, as then the clear bra just gets all scraped up. I used to to have clear bra on my painted and clear coated sills on my Lotus, and I quickly found out that clear bra didn't prevent scratches, it just moved them to something else

 

I just noticed the 957 Cayenne has the aluminum piece on the bumper. It has to be a matter of time before Porsche makes one for the 958.

 

I have this same setup and it works well. The clear bra is nice as the flip down liner doesn't provide coverage for the full width of the cargo load floor. The clear bra has saved a scratch or two for me.

We install Suntek back there all the time for one of the local Porsche dealerships. Suntek is self healing and will take some abuse although it can get gouged. But better to replace a cheep piece of film than to get damage on the bumper. Would be a pretty simple self install as well.
