I have a Cayenne base and do four-hour commute round trip (mostly stop and go traffic) without a single issue - it is a bit more comfortable when I used the X5 to commute. If you usually stay a long time in traffic, be sure to get a good sound system (e.g., a minimum of Bose system). At least the sound system and Sat radio keeps me entertain during the long drive.

22.2mpg on a 252 mile trip with an average speed of 75mph. Not too shabby for a Turbo

I have 22" rims I put put on at 30 miles, I've filled my S up twice now, I'm getting 250ish miles each full tank. And I have yet to go past 4-5k rpm.

I have the 21" rims and a CTT. I've never averaged over 20mpg and the total lifetime average says around 15mpg. I have just a bit under 7K on the odometer. I don't always drive it spirited and most of the time I would characterize my driving as normal, but I'm not driving Ms. Daisy. So, I'm baffled at how some people can get over 20mpg in the CTT.

In TX too. Was it 100F and did you have AC on? How are people getting these mpg figures. Granted, when I drive, it's typically stop and go, but even on weekends when there is less traffic on the highway I still go get anywhere close to that. Also, being in CA, I don't even use the AC much and if I do, it's at the first fan notch.

CTT is getting rear rewapped with clear bra from that parking lot clip; it's at park place Dallas on Lemmon.
I drove with cruise on 80% of the way set to 84 mph.
Seat a/c (bum cooler) was on, normal a/c was on set to 68 degrees and 80% of max blower speed. It was 99-104 degrees the entire way from CO to TX except for when I left at 3am until about 8 am.

Normal driving around city gets me 17 mpg, highway is good though.

So of course (to my delight), after posting that I never get over 20mpg in the CTT, I started getting it now. Looks like right when it hit 6800 miles on the odometer, things started changing. I tested this out on 3 short trips (to work). I got over 20mpg on each trip. The one trip I was getting 22.8mpg using cruise control set at 77mph. A/C was set on the first notch at 72F. Seems like there is some programming that after a certain break-in period, it switches to this better fuel saving mode. I dunno, I'm guessing but that's what it seemed like.

vitaman will become famous soon enough
Did you break the car in with a particularly light touch or heavy hand?
That's a big (although obviously welcome) jump to experience.

I tried to be very gentle in the first 2000 miles. However, I did have a few hard launches, but it was less than 10 I'm sure.
