For those with 19"-20" wheels, summer or winter tires?
I'm curious for those who got 19" or 20" wheels did you pick the summer or winter tire option? If winter, what model tire came with them and how is the handling? thx joe
If I didn't have the 21inch Turbo II wheels, I would definitely get the all season tire. I have already not been able to take my CS on a trip due to snow, it would have been a none issue with the all seasons.
We consider 'all-season' a compromise for every season. We have 18s to get as much side wall possible
Winter studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta's have taken us locally, ice racing and to the frozen Arctic Ocean w/o any issues
Three season we run BFG KO2s - like them for on road and to color outside those pesky yellow & white lines

my GTS came with the Scorpions and it was ok but we're full summer in Australia, I moved t the 265/65/18 KO2's for family outings on the beach and mountains and Michelins 295R21 to replace the Scorpions all season, yes an extra set of wheels and extra space taken to store it but woks really well!
The Scorpon's were actually pretty good on the beach. I was careful where I'm going but did not get stuck in normal beach driving and were exceptional in the rain.

I have a '17 GTS with 19" winter Pirelli Scorpions and 20" Goodyear Eagle LS2. It came with the Eagles from the factory. I added the tire/rims the following winter when the dealer had a pretty good sale on them.
The taller sidewall and narrower track of the 19" are better in snow. The handling difference for them on dry pavement is not detectable until you REALLY push it HARD on corners. During normal or even spirited highway driving they're great. But once the temps warm up past ~50F they tend to get too soft and handling suffers.
I don't love the all-season Eagles, as their handling was pretty uneven but they provided a tremendous amount of mileage. At 30k they're in need of being replaced but reduced driving lately has let me put it off for a bit. I'm still undecided on what I want next
It's hugely convenient being able to just swap sets. No issues with changing tires on rims, balancing and such. The GTS and Turbo can't use 18" rims, as those won't clear the larger brake calipers.
There are MANY threads here and on rennlist regarding winter tires. Search and read through them, as no doubt someone has already answered the many questions you might have.
