IPhone Connection

There is a little pop up lid on a compartment in the console that seems made for an IPhone.
But the connectivity is in the arm rest. Seems dumb to me.
Has anyone retrofitted the small compartment with an iPhone connection that at the very least would charge the phone?

That compartment is for an ashtray and otherwise not terribly functional. I use mine for coins (but I lined the tray with felt so I wouldnt hear the rattle of them constantly). I love your idea of charging and playing the phone/ipod stright from there.

Was at the custom shop getting Radar and Laser installed. Asked them about morphing that tray into a charger, but they had never done one and didn't know how to do it.
It's still a great holder for the IPhone.

If somebody can post a DIY on how to remove the center console, this would be an easy mod to add.

FYI, I did this on my truck, had an iPhone base built in to a spot in the dash. The problem is the iPhone bases change with different models. Much better to just have a cord which give you flexibility with different model in the future.

Effectively, ensure you are future proof or you will have to redo it like I did with my truck (actually just moved to a cord vice the stand).
