PCM navigation issue

Just want to check if this is normal on Cayenne.

I drove into city (lots of high rise buildings around) the other day, while the car was moving I started a route guidance. I then realized the map was showing that I was on the wrong street and it guides me to routes that I shouldn't be going.

It seems like to GPS failed to pick up the satellite in the city, but it works perfectly fine on highway. I know some old car navi does this, but wondering if this is consider normal in our new cayenne?

Haven't had an issue with mine as of yet, but out high rises in Denver aren't really that high.
Dallas no issues either.
Hmmmm

On the PCM's info screen it will show how many satellites you are currently getting. The highrises are probably blocking the satellites when this is happening. While PCM tries to maintain your location through "dead reckoning," it can only be accurate to a certain degrees. After a few turns in the city block it will lose track and think it's elsewhere.

No Satellites being picked up by my Cayenne

Over the last few weeks I have been experiencing the same problem. The triangle on the navigation screen makes it seem like I'm flying across the land. It has no idea where I am. Looking at the location info, I am not picking up any satellites (shows 0 on the screen).

I have an appointment for September 13 to get it sorted out. I did being it up with my last service and things seemed to work for a month or so but then wigged out again. They said they just "flashed" the system. I suspect there's more to it.

I too booked an appointment on the 12 Sep after I got lost in the city last week for 30 mins following the navigation. In the end I had to use my iPhone to find my way there.

I'm trying to figure out if the problem was related to antenna or computer software glitch. What's the accuracy distance showing in your PCM info screen when satellites were received? I had around 100 to 130 (I suppose the unit is Metre) when I had 6 to 8 satellites in open areas.

The flying triangle only happened to me once, but on the Garmin Porsche provided during my stay
In France,as I was headed back to Germany,I had planned to leave the highway to spend the night in a small village in the Champagne region
A few miles before my exit, the highway goes real near to some plant,so as I was driving by these numerous power lines, the highway disappeared from the screen and I was left with what looked like a triangle flying over the land
I had no iPhone,so I got off at the first exit and asked for directions..as i drove furthur away from the power lines, the device came back down to earth along with its map..weird
