GTS for the wife?

Hey guys, long story short. Bought a 991 and didnt like it as a DD, ordered a Cayenne GTS to replace the 991, the GTS will be here in about 15 days, but now after living with the 991, I absolutely love the car, I simply dont want to let it go.
I cant keep them both for myself but could pass the GTS for the wife.

So my question is: Would you consider a GTS for the wife as a DD to haul the kids arround and do the shopping? or it would be too sporty?
She currently drives a 2011 Cayenne V6. I asked for her opinion but she really doesnt care,

I kicked around getting my wife a GTS as a DD to replace her Escalade ESV. We also have a 2013 CTT. However, we use it for trips etc...

We ended up with a Cayenne Diesel for her DD, and she loves it.

I think a GTS would have been nice too, but we didn't want two of the same thing. As the GTS is much more like the turbo, than a base.

If she doesn't care, use the money on a different toy for yourself, imo

Unless of course you drive her car often, in which case you will enjoy the GTS over the 6!

The answer seems to be pretty clear. Unless you don't mind spending money, I don't see a reason why you want to replace a vehicle for your wife who doesn't care. Are you just trying to make up an excuse to put that on her "tab"? You secretly want to own both but you can't huh? Admit it!

^^^^Haha, you got me Enilder!

The Cayenne V6 is almost out of warranty so it needs to go asap, I would love to keep the GTS in the house ,but not sure if the bolstered rear seats will be adequate to sit three or four kids in the back, I ordered the sport alcantara seats.
The GTS is fully paid and ready for delivery, If I can't convince myself to keep it, I will buy the new MB ML350 for the wife, I think its horrible but she likes it.
I like the diesel Cayenne option but currently its not avaliable in Brazil.

I was debating over the same thing. Sold the ESV we had, I am thinking about a Turbo or GTS. I think I am going with turbo, I like having the extra power. but no on the ML350 over a GTS for sure.

Just wondering:what is the second hand market like in Brazil?
Is cpo available?...
Ps:I was thinking that a used 2011 turbo could be a nice way to go for the wife...and even the husband

Both the GTS and turbo are wonderful cars.
Just last week I got into a GTS and I felt underwhelmed with the power, I am now spoiled with the spooling power of the turbo's.

I remember my 2008, and I now remember again why I sold that to get the turbo.

Good luck deciding, great cars.

Well stated Jace
I also tried a GTS a few months ago
I liked the outside black trim, the firm suspension and how willingly it revved up
It seemed to speedily and seamlessly change gears-and felt quick off the line...
..but almost as fast-I realized
... I was not getting any boost
The rush from the boost is an enticing feeling
However, the stock turbo is capable of more..all it takes are a few little upgrades
Ecu flash+exhaust+air filters+plenum+diverter valves are all useful mods that do a decent job of increasing power(I should have a good 600 now)while also actually making it more pleasant to drive

I got my wife a 2011 turbo...now she is spoiled! We also just drove the GTS and agreed it was underpowered, especially once you drive the turbo (sorry GTS owners)!

I can't speak for 958 since I own 955 S but it has been extremely reliable. Other than preventative maintenance such as coolant pipe replacements and typical oil changes, I spent $0 due to reliability. Also, we can't ignore the fact that 958 lifespan hasn't been as long as 955 but my guess is that no matter where you go (US, Europe, Asia, etc.), you will take a harder hit due to depreciation than maintenance. Of course, there are few circumstances where your car breaks after another.

I agree that majority people would prefer Cayenne over ML but I've also seen people who prefer ML. At the end of the day, it's nothing but a personal preference.
