It isn't a Cayenne Turbo by any means, although it is noticeable quicker then the v6, and honestly (the S guys are going to jump me for this) it feels just as powerful as the v8 (I was looking at an S before deciding on the Diesel). While on paper the HP # doesn't impress, the TQ does, and that is what you feel when you "step on it".

Plus with a few minor mods (exhaust, ECU tune, etc..) you should be able to see some nice gains (I'll let you know as I get to those phases). Mix that in with the gas milage, I'm averaging 26.3 over the last 4 days of mostly in-town driving, and I felt the Diesel was the way to go...

That said, I'd certainly recommend a test drive as everyone is different.
thanks! Sounds great. any tunes available yet for the diesel?

I haven't spent much time researching it yet, going up to my tuning shop on Friday so may know more then. I know several are available in Europe (TechArt, SpeedArt, Ruf, etc..), and I'm sure for the right $ you can ship your ECU to them

Spoke to the guys at FabSpeed a few days ago, and they are hoping to see one from Evolution but were not sure.

There are for the Gen1 engine, as much as 285PS and 600NM. But this Gen2 version is too new for the tuners yet.

Plus it's rev-limited to 135 mph. Not all diesels are created equal, my tractor for instance is governed to 2600 rpm. Above that the valves will start to float. On this particular diesel, they'll start floating after 4500 rpm .

Looks nice and clean
The black trim is a cool touch and striking contrast with the white
Enjoy the ride

Without sounding defensive about my choice of the Diesel, I have to say i'm having a hard time understanding the comments that its slow when it gets to high speeds. I find the diesel gets to high speeds smoothly and quickly, and frankly, my biggest problem so far is that once i hit the accelerator to pass or speed up, I find I am at 135-145 km/h (speed limits here are 100k km/h ) so quickly that i have to watch myself. Its so good it just gets away from you! Afterall, how fast do you need an SUV to go? I have to say that for a daily driver (which mine is) it has all the power you could ever need, and then some, and I am coming from a 420hp Jag XF Supercharged. BUT, as has been said before, different strokes for different folks. The only way to know if its for you is to ttest drive it for yourself.

For those of you who're skeptical about the power of the TDI 3.0V6, I'd suggest you drive one. You might be pleasantly surprised. I was.

My month-old CD is my new DD, and I honestly believe it's the nicest car I've ever owned (it's not a 997, but the overall driving objective is much different).

I know if I were buying a Cayenne, this diesel seems to me to be the ideal engine for this type of vehicle.

You should remove the badge yourself. I am not a huge fan of dealer doing non-maintenance work (or warranty work). Heatgun (or a dryer), floss, and a polisher will do the trick. Just FYI.

I ended up having my tuning shop do it today while they were looking it over.

I also had the windows tinted yesterday, and the markers and remaining badges swapped out. It was already dark when I got home tonight, so will get some pic snapped tomorrow.

Here are a few pics of the latest updates.

- Windows Tinted (50 Windshield, 35 Font Windows, 50 Rear Windows [since they already had a slight tint form Porsche]).

- Gloss Black rear hatch trim piece
- Rear Cayenne Badge deletion (since this wasn't done on delivery)

Here are a couple of quick pics with the wheels on... Hope to make it up to the Mountains this weekend to snap some better shots with a better camera.

The wheels are 22" VE Innsbruck on Toyo Proxes STII tires.

Where did you get the badges painted? Were they taken off and then remounted?

Thanks
