She Arrived - 2013 Diesel

I picked her up on Sat. but just had a chance to get up a post

2013 Cayenne Diesel
White / Black
- 14 Way Seats
- Bose Audio Package
- Premium Package Plus
- Wheel Arch Extensions
- Pano Roof
- Trailer Hitch
- Roof Rails - Gloss Black
- Exterior Package in Gloss Black
- Anthracite Birch Interior Package
- Deletion of Model Designation (Cayenne)

On Friday I'm having the badges (Porsche on back and Diesel on the sides) painted Gloss Black, and swapping out the amber side markers w/ clear ones. I'm also planning to get the windows tinted this weekend.

Up next is wheels... I know I want to go with black, but I'm trying to determine which set to go with.

All-in-all I'm thrilled (and after 3 days my clock is still working)

Congratulations! I was looking at a white with black interior at the dealership and it is a gorgeous combination. I agree about the black wheels and the black detailing outside that offsets the white. Looking forward to some pictures when you get time.

Thanks!

The MSRP on the car was a little over $79k. As for Vehicle Dynamics, for they Diesel they are currently only offering PASM, PASM w/ AIR, and PCCB. I've had both PASM (Panamera) and PASM w/ Air (1st Gen Cayenne Turbo), and while both systems were great after test driving the Cayenne with and without it, I thought it was "OK" to purchase it without. I'll possibly consider lowing it w/ H&R springs on down the road, but for now I'm thrilled with the way it handles.

I'll try and get some pics posted tomorrow, then again on Friday once the remain trim items have been installed.

While I'd love to take credit for this, I actually think there are a few other members that took delivery of a Diesel before I did.

Picked mine up last month. I too spec'd the (NAO) Model Delete option. Both "Cayenne" and "diesel" logos were deleted. In fact, mine was still on the showroom floor the day I went to pick it up. While my salesman was busy getting the paperwork together, I witnessed another salesman try to sell mine to a walk-in customer - as a gasser. He didn't believe me when I told him it was a diesel, until I told him that it was MY diesel. Mine stickered out at $71k, cuz I passed on the pano roof and rails. Stayed with standard 18" wheels too, so didn't see much point in wheel arches either.

Had to go aftermarket to get the receptacle for the trailer plug, and scratched my back bumper cover twice before my reversible cargo mat and apron arrived. I think most of it will rub out though. Still think Auto-Hold should work on level ground though. Nitro'd the tires yesterday. I'm satisfied with the OE window tint level, but am definitely considering a clear bra for that bug magnet up front.

Looks good, thought you said you had the model designation deleted, did they mess us and keep it when you ordered?

Thanks!

I was told the model designation delete was done at the dealership during delivery... I noticed it while taking delivery, but rather then waiting around for them to remove it, rewash it, etc... I'm having them remove it this Friday when I take it in to have the marker lights swapped to clear and the Porsche / Diesel badges changed to black.

Got ya, I had a set of black Victor Zehn's in 20x10 on my silver cayenne before I went with the 21" turbo II wheels. Black wheels do look good with the lighter paint colors

Congrats, she's a beauty. I've had my diesel for almost 6 weeks now and still get a thrill each time I drive it. I also chose model designation delete but interestingly, mine took off the diesel as well as the Cayenne. It just says Porsche on the back and that's it. You're going to love it!

congrats! i keep going back and forth on the diesel. How's the power with this engine? Does it have enough pickup for daily driving? I find that the V6 in a 6sp is great, but the V6 in an auto (have gotten a loaner) feels pretty sluggish in comparison. Would love to hear your thoughts.

I think it certainly has enough pickup for daily driving... it's my DD .

It isn't a Cayenne Turbo by any means, although it is noticeable quicker then the v6, and honestly (the S guys are going to jump me for this) it feels just as powerful as the v8 (I was looking at an S before deciding on the Diesel). While on paper the HP # doesn't impress, the TQ does, and that is what you feel when you "step on it".

Plus with a few minor mods (exhaust, ECU tune, etc..) you should be able to see some nice gains (I'll let you know as I get to those phases). Mix that in with the gas milage, I'm averaging 26.3 over the last 4 days of mostly in-town driving, and I felt the Diesel was the way to go...

That said, I'd certainly recommend a test drive as everyone is different.
