Trying to be patient
Oh Man! You guys in Asia have it really bad. OpinionChan that is crazy- a year wait.
You are right Ken- anticipation is part of the fun. It's like waiting for your next date with the woman you desire....

A lot of the joy in factory ordering a car is the wait knowing your vehicle is optioned just the way you wanted with no remorse. I bought my CTT off the lot and despite its options is not the car I would have ordered, which is why I put a deposit on a turbo s that ill option my way.
Of course it helps the wait to have a super alternative to drive
Be patient it's worth the wait and you will always know you created your dream car

I agree RAK. I was thinking the same thing. It has been many years since I ordered a car spec'd out the exactly way I want it and it is exciting!
Also, I am sure I will be glad you guys talked me in to the PDCC and PTV Plus.

My car had yet to have its PDI ( it had just come in day prior)so I test drove a CTT without PDCC and PTV and was nonetheless duly impressed. My car has both and I was amazed at the difference. No roll on hard cornering. Can't believe u r driving a tall SUV
That is great to hear RAK, especially since you made a direct comparison.
I just sold a Mercedes SL500 which handled nicely so to not lose that handling and have all the other advantages will be great.
There are too many cars around here and getting so crowded that I couldn't enjoy a low car being stuck behind SUVs. It will be good to get back to SUV height although I still need to find a place to take the CTT where there are winding roads and some open spaces to enjoy the ride. Nassau County is getting choked.

I second that. The PDCC is awesome. I've not got PTV on mine but would definitely have added it if I had the patience to wait for a regular build.
Compared to the Cayenne an SL500 is like driving a buttered bath-sponge butter side down.

I wonder why there's such a great discrepancy. I ordered my CD in May, it was built in July and delivered in August. Since the Cayenne is single-sourced out of Leipzig, I can understand why it may take a little longer to ship to divergent locations. But why should the ordering location have a bearing on build date?

That's quite a visualization. It's going to take a while for me to wrap my brain around that one!

The wait for the 09 Carrera was excruciating since it was our first Porsche. The wait for the Cayenne not as bad, even though it was longer. Both were well worth the wait. Patience has its rewards.
The dealer here in Taiwan were telling me the orders for Cayennes alone were double that of all their other models combined. But price is the biggest factor. The bare bones Cayenne V6 is cheaper than a BMW X5 3.3D over here. The Turbo and GTS models have a much shorter wait time though. Around 3-4 months. Demand for the pricier models is much lower.
