that's why I'm considering the ECS kit since it actually comes with a separate housing as well and seems plug and play enough from other owners

I managed to also replace the rear footwell lights with LEDs, I used a pair of pliers to hold the socket and managed to twist away the light housing. I have replaced all the lighting to LEDs except the sun visor mirrors which I prefer the yellowish incandescent light(better for facial color), and I am not able to replace the exterior mirror puddle lights, anyone has any idea?

Ten bucks a pop, but these are actually identified as LED side marker bulbs.

I have the ecs tuning ones for our cars. its SUPER bright. and while everything does work, its a POS made in Taiwan kit for $50. when mine was shipped to me, one of the connectors was cracked, but still worked so I used it anyway. also the so called plug and play? the pins in mine were slightly off and bent from the factory in Taiwan where theyre made, I work on my own cars and fixed the issue myself using a pick and had to straighten/spread apart and realign the cheap Chinese connector pins to match the oem Porsche plug on both sides. their kit works, lights up and hasn't burned out on me yet, but for $50, imho its a POS kit that imho isn't worth $50 at all. i am very familiar with products from asia and import/export, if you brought a container of these in, they would prob be a few dollars a piece at the most.

Sounds like a generational prejudice, as "Made in Taiwan" lost its negative connotation years ago. I'm inclined to believe your dislike now relates to stuff marked "Made in China". The communist Peoples Republic of China mainland (PRC) may be only miles away from the democratic island of Taiwan (officially the Republic of China/ROC), they're light years away relative to politics and human rights.

if you actually look at the product, theres nothing special about. for me it was not plug and play as I had to modify something that was supposed to be made as a plug and play. they would not work/light up other wise. nobodys talking about human rights or being prejudice, generally Chinese and Taiwanese products are not very good, id take made in japan or korea anyday. $50 for a cheap LED that didn't work without modifying is what I am complaining about. the other wire that connects to the resistor was 1/2 missing and cracked on the plug, I know ecs doesn't make this item, but for the manufacturer and seller to sell it for $50 without QCing everything isn't what I call a good product especially when it looks like its worth a couple bucks at most. Take Vossen wheel for example, I personally know which company that makes their rims as well other companies that they make wheels for and sell it at 1/2 the cost, are vossens wheels made any better? or is it better marketing and a different box?

Almost all of Apple products are made in China with no quality issues.

If you bought these lights for your Ford F150 they would be 20$. Same product for your Porsche... 50$. Why? Because they can. The problem you are referring to us is quality for price paid; you expect more. I believe forums like this are a fantastic way for us consumers to weed out the crap this being sold out there. I, too, had to modify the pins and housing to make the lights fit properly. But they work well so far. We will see in time. I paid $39.99.
