VTS Fob Finder
Ever mislaid your VTS fob and need it in a hurry?
Want to burgle you neighbour's house to steal their Porsche and want to know where they keep their VTS fob?
You just need:

and couple it up to a receiver that will do 433 MHz and bob's your uncle.
(I can track mine pretty accurately from about a 1/4 mile)

It's just standard falconry telemetry equipment. I tried it the other night out of interest.
I now turn my fob off every night. It doesn't seem much point having a secret fob if someone can track it in a matter of seconds.

The fob has a rubberised button on the front (or the back if you turn it over) just press and hold it for a few seconds and the fob turns off. Press it once and it comes to life again.
If you forget to turn it on - or leave it in the house - the car will give you a bong and display a warning on the small display before the car phones home and alerts the network centre.

I think they allow 5 false call-outs per year before they start hitting you with charges. Here it's £205 per year for the VTS contract, I'm guessing it's something similar where you are?
My old Cayenne had a system from Tracker which worked very well - I'd have stuck with them if it was an option. I had a Cayenne stolen a few years back - I'd had it 3 weeks and we had the house broken into at night to steal the keys. Have been a bit overly security conscious ever since.

In Leipzig,I was warned to ALWAYS manually close doors(I have keyless entry)by pressing the little button on the door handle,ESPECIALLY when at a rest-stop/gas station..as there exists the very real possibility of someone just sitting there with a scanner...
