I'm thinking of buying the small TechArt trim pieces that cover the top of the tail lights (the white part). Just realized: does that cover the reverse lights, so no one sees if I am about to go in reverse and the area behind the car is not illuminated? See attached photo showing the pieces.

 

No it doesn't. Reverse lights are that tiny white stripes in the lower portion of whole light unit.

yes, you need to call them. The tail light trim is $395, the headlight trim is $650, plus paint and installation.
