Typical Cayenne discounts?

Im shopping around for a preowned or new turbo.

I found a 2011 with about 9k miles on it and 22 mo of warranty left.

Pretty loaded 120k sticker. They are asking 90k for it.

At first I thought this was a good deal but then I started crunching some numbers.

Its 25% off new msrp. They would also want me to pay something like 3k if i wanted to CPO it.

My thinking is wait till the end of the year and try to snag a 2013 off the lot for maybe 15-20% off MSRP? Is that too ambitious?

If you can walk in and get 5% off a new 2014 order it seems to be in the ball park?

Thanks.

Why not just source another slightly used Turbo? I don't really see a reason to buy brand new. I will never be that sucker, no matter how rich i'am. That would be different if it was something more rare and expensive like a 911 TT/GT2/GT3, F-car, Lambo and so on. But for a run of the mill Cayenne TT, might as well save yourself a nice chunk of coin and buy one with under 10k miles on it. Sure, you might not get to spec it exactly how you want, but if you look hard enough, im sure you'll find one to suit your taste.

i like the spec on the one i found. i dont like the idea of buying brand new but if i only save 25% buying a 2 almost 3 year old car vs 15-20% on a new one it doesnt make a whole lot of sense.

trying to gauge if my expectations are reasonable.

surely, someone has some idea of what 2012s went for at the end of the year?

if it ends up that people only got like 10% off then buying something like this pre owned makes more sense.

thanks!

The discounts on the other Cayennes certainly is under 10%, if not under 5%.

Not sure about turbos, though.

However, for a 2011, that's a tad high.

Manheim auction results:

05/02/13 RIVRSIDE Regular $78,750 18,448 Above BLACK 8G A Yes
05/02/13 RIVRSIDE Regular $75,500 20,042 Avg SILVER 8G A Yes
05/02/13 OHIO Regular $72,500 28,887 Avg BLUE 8G A Yes

Not many Turbos through auction, but you can see that probably $85k more like it.

Would keep looking.

thats a good deal. makes me think that 15-20% on an 2013 with 2014s on the lot next to it isnt crazy.

You did well to get 10% off a new order. With that kind of discount, it's definitely preferable to buy new over a 1-yr old car that may only be 15% off if you like being really picky about the build (like me).

They only have so much room, 13 or 14 and there isn't any help from the factory on the 13, you wont do much more than 10%
