Bose vs. Burmester

Hi all,
Can anyone comment about the difference between the Bose and the Burmester system? Is it worth the upgrade?

Thanks

vitaman is infamous around these parts
Do a search on either name in this forum or the Panamera Forum.
I received my education this way and chose the Burm.

Burmester is an awesome system. But, no matter how good the sound I can hear road noise in the car (even with the double panel glass), when the car is park there is still external noise. I have it in my Panamera and didn't think it is worth the upgrade. My 2 cents.

No experience with the Burmester but i'm plenty happy with the Bose. As mentioned earlier, a car audio system will only get so good and you're always contending with road noise. I would never get Bose for my home audio system (no highs no lows, must be Bose), but for the Cayenne its more than enough.

yes, double pane glass helps but does not eliminate the road noise in the cayenne. i stuck with the pcm and it is acceptable, plus you have an extra storage space in the trunk (no subwoofer). the bose is lots better than the pcm though. never heard the burm.

Had Burm in my Panny and loved it. I now have a Cayenne GTS
With it also, I don't think it's worth the additional cost over Bose.

Is it a better system. Absolutely.

Is it the best value. Absolutely not.

Would I get it with the being said. Of course, considering that I can never afford the Burm for my actual home (100K easy). I think the price of admission to Burmester is relatively cheap if you look at what the home audio goes for.
