Keep the GTS Exhaust Valve Always Open

I read in one forum teaching people to keep exhaust valve open for 997 by unplugging a connection (as shown below), original thread is Here

I did a search and found a similar looking plug in engine compartment. Does anyone know if this IS the plug to do the trick?

Thanks so much for the help. I did try to google similar on 958 but did not find any. Sorry if this is a duplicated post (Which I hope is not though...)

I pulled the vacuum lines off the valves located near the exhaust tips. Just make sure you plug the hoses so not to throw codes. You can use small screw, golf tee etc. I also put rubber caps on the nipples of the valves/actuators. Auto parts stores have plugs and caps you can use for this.
You can zip tie the hoses up out of the way. I think I just laid mine on top if the valves.

Hello, just wondering Where is this plug located? Is this located near the exhaust? Do I need to Jack the care up?

Hope to hear from someone.

Also, by remaining the valve open, does I believe does not activate the sound symposer? Anyway to leave that open as well?

Here's another thread on the same mod. It has some additional pictures that might point you in the right direction. It doesn't seem like you need to jack up the car.

As for the sound symposer, looks like it is tied to the "sports mode" button.

Why don't you just add the sport exhaust button off a 2014 PSE? That way you have it both ways.

Hey there That's a good idea too but o Actually don't mind the sound on all the time but your suggestion is also useful.

Only thing is it seems I might to find a switch and then install. Would this be more time consuming and costly..

The tee golf solution from Idye is the way to go.

Or cargraphic sells a module for that purpose but why bother paying when you can use two golf tees ?

Hello guys,

its really easy and very easy once the car is raised.

However, I Think even without raising the car, one can access it from the rear of the rear tires.

I will upload a photo of what I mean.

Yep two golf tees can work or actually even 1 golf tee.

the rubber pipes actually look like a 'Y" so you can just remove and secure either 2 points or the 1 point before it splits into 2 parts.

Well let the photo do the talking.

This is the Left Rear tire ( accessible from the sides).
  1. Plug out easily,
  2. stuff golf tee or screw to seal it and secure to anywhere with cabletie.
  3. Do for both left and right side.

I do like the noise but I think it is only obvious outside.

Now inside cabin, with sports mode switched off, you still have the PSE on but sound symposer swithced off ( so your have basically a medium setting in terms of volume)

I will try to look at the Sound symposer bypass and see if I can do that to increase cabin noise if necessary.

Rubber for PSE

No apparatus like that on 958 turbo.

Any ideas on how to install 2014 Cayenne GTS PSE button or "googles" on a 2013 Cayenne GTS?

I unplgeed the controller mentioned above but it didn't make any difference!

Disconnecting the exhaust flaps drum hose worked very well though.
