anything I might be overlooking before dealer appt?

In the instrument panel, when scrolling through the options, the audio says 'audio off', the nav says 'nav off' but the map still shows on that option.

Buttons on head unit do nothing. Before this, occasionally, the volume would just randomly increase, but it only did that 4 or 5 times.

 

I'm interested in how this works out.... The other day out of nowhere our head unit went black but radio still played, but we couldnt change stations or anything...hasnt done it again.

 

That stinks. I wish I had a suggestion but it sounds like a dealer trip to me.

 

My old CD did it too. Dealer basically unplugged, and reinstalled. I have no idea why that worked, as I pulled the fuse to try that.

Only did it that one time. However, I sold shortly after that.

My wife started the car yesterday, and the dash had a warning triangle and said something to the effect of "Initialized Battery Shutdown while parked" with a battery icon, or something similar to that, then it went away, and the radio was working again after that.

I had a similar event with my '13 where the head unit would repeatedly shutdown and restart for a few days. I tried a full system reinitialize and it still had the problem. Then suddenly it went away months ago and never came back. Who knows?
