Just picked up new Cayenne and have an issue.

I finally picked up my new V6 Cayenne last night, what a sweet ride (4 months in waiting). When I turned the car on this morning I got a yellow batter warning light which said "Battery Discharge Protecion On 90 %". I cannot find anything about what causes this issue in the owner's manual. I have a call into the dealer, but has anyone had this issue? The dealer was charging the car right before I picked it up...

Thanks!

Hi,it's a most welcome feature
Upon arriving in Berlin(and finding an awesome parking space) from Leipzig,I was so enthusiastic..that i left my driving light on
The parking attendant was worried(as was I) because my lights had been on a while...noticed the same warning signal on...but when i switched on ignition...my CT started without a problem
Only time that ever came up..but sure was happy about it!!!

I had the exact same issue. It was a switch under the driver's seat that the dealer has to turn when they activate the memory seats. Took 5 seconds to fix ...

Hope it's as easy for you.

Thanks. I am trying to avoid having to drive back to the dealer for this simple fix. Do you know how to access this switch under the driver's seat? I looked but it is not very clear how to get at the battery. Also, there is no diagram or info in the owner's manual about accessign the switch.

Sorry, no idea. When I brought the car back to the dealer the next day the service advisor just rolled his eyes and called a tech to flip the switch. I saw him reach under the seat but did not ask about specifics. I just know it's all it took. They are supposed to do this when they prep the car but it seems they sometimes forget.

I'd ask the service advisor at your dealer to point you in the right direction.

Edit: Or you ask Vinnysca ....

Thanks, Vinny! It is fixed. I moved the switch back towards the rear of the car and the message no longer appears.

Awesome! Now you know what the switch is for. Also, this is where the access to the battery is. It's a PITA to get to btw. I had to get to my battery 3 times due to a defective AGM battery from the factory. I got really good and fast at removing the seat and the battery! LOL. This is how I found out about the battery protection switch.

There is a swtich located under the drivers seat (under the carpet) which needs to be switched on. Move the drivers seat all the way back and open the door in the carpet (cut out around plastic strp). There will be a switch attached to the battery. Mine was switched to storage mode. You need to flip it back on and the message will go away.
