sighting is infamous around these parts
G_A, the car is not prewired for the camera, also there is no camera input on the back of the unit.

Do you have any part numbers that allows this?
Coding aside, i looked in PWIS and could not find all the parts needed for the camera thats why i went the 3'rd party route.

how is the fit of the camera? does it look factory? do you have a pic of the camera in action? night vision? wide angle? does it replace the actual door handle? can you watch video in motion?

I have)
but not yet.
tomorrow, will try not forget.
But it is easy.
Camera with handle, control unit with bracket if no towing hook in the car.
Easy to find in PET program.
you need blue connector insert in main PCM connector, connector for camera, same as audi, look forums,
few meters good video cable, two fakra female connectors, power cable, ties, insulation tape etc.

the pic looks great. this is my preferred way for backup camera. aftermarket camera to pcm. save some money. it's crazy they want $1600 for the backup camera function that should be there in the first place. the 20k ford escape rental I had last week has backup camera and voice control. hope my dealer can get it coded.

I will take some pics on Saturday and upload it.

They shipped the wrong one but sent me the correct one that arrived yesterday.
I will take pics of both and also show a bit how I installed the setup.

I was going to do it yesterday, but spent all day installing escort 8500i plus with blinder shifters. F*&*(*^ was it a PITA to find a place on the firewall that I can punch through. Eventually found a place and have routed all the cable to the drivers footwell. I need to just hook it all up.

I have not tried the VIM but from what I heard its not possible with anything yet.

So which part enables the grid lines and steering angle lines?
Or is it purely a coding and calibration thing?

Thanks

I think those steering angle lines are from the factory. I don’t think any aftermarket camera provides them. Grid lines yes, steering angle lines, no.

Yes, i wanted to find out that which parts give you that?

So is it built into the backup camera?

I doubt that because there is no cables other than video going to the OEM camera. SO does it mean its a coding thing?

I spoke to someone at Porsche service dept & I was told the grid lines/steering angle lines come installed from the factory, but the dealership gets their aftermarket back-up camera kits from Nav-TV.

Stupids. Nav tv cost not 200$)) OE camera just provide image. Control unit allow open input, provide lines and allow adjust image settings.
