Recall Porsche 2013-2014 Cayenne
Well, only 207 Cayenne total. Mine is very very accurate - to the point where I've actually pumped something like 25.8 gallons into a 26.2 gallon tank. Maybe the assembly line those 207 units ran through was inadvertently provided with a crate of Chinese counterfeits

That was bad planning on my part, but I can tell you when the estimate drops below 10 miles and turns to dashes you really start to pucker...
So I'm gonna go with mine being accurate
(mine was built outside of the date range anyway)

What I do with every new car is to get it as close to zero as possible, drive to a gas station and then drive around the block as many times as I dare so I can then measure the accuracy.
I find the countdown to 10 and then turning to dashes a little annoying. What's the deal? Telling me I have 12, then 11, then 10 is supposed to impress me with the accuracy, but then the guessing game is on after that?

Am I the only one here who fills up when the gas tank is half empty?
The main reason I do so is because I am afraid of running out of diesel in case of an emergency (fire, earthquake, flood). Huh, maybe I have been watching too many of those "California get ready in case of emergency" commercials.

My understanding from reading TSI/PIWIS is that running the CD (I expect this applies to the CTT too as I think it's a turbo related thing) out to the point that the engine cuts out is very bad for the HPFP and it requires a PIWIS (usually only to be found at a dealer) to bleed the high pressure side of the system. It's not simply throwing in a gallon or two and driving it to the next station.
I personally wait until the light comes on and as I said above my last fill was due to bad planning based on misunderstanding how far I was from where I planned to fill up and then being in a "dead" area when it was apparent that making it was becoming very questionable.
