CTT 21" Replacement Tires
I had the Advans on my Cayenne GTS and they are the stickiest tire by far but as they started to wear out, the road noise started to increase too. Also, I didn't get much life out of my Advans (18K) vs the Michelin Latitudes I replaced it with. The Latitudes run much quieter, almost as grippy and has much better wet handling in my opinion. I got 32k out of my Latitudes with the same driving patterns.
Covered 13k miles so far with my Michelins. Mostly Motorway use, started with 8mm, now have 6.1 on the front and 5.1 on the back. So pleased with the wear rate.
I've started to get a slight droning noise at the front above 70mph. I don't think it's the tyres because I've just swopped the fronts with the back (cos the backs always wear slightly quicker) and the noise is still there, so it must be the start of a future wheel bearing failure. Time will tell.

Michelin Latitude Sport wears well and doesn't get too noisy with age. have 21k on my set and the fronts (out edge - alignment) are due so I intend to replace all them. After some investigation on TireRack it seems the Conti CrossContact UHP appears to have an edge on the Yoko Advan Sport and both cost a fair amount less than the Mich. Having been through this before with several other P-cars I know there can be HUGE differences in wear and noise as the tire ages. I don't want the noise as the tire ages and would prefer to have great dry traction.
One thing the dealer told me was that they could NOT rotate the wheels (I have stock 21" Turbo II's) so could not balance the wear out. Anyone else hear that??

BTW - anything over 15k miles is considered for CTT tires based on owning several of them since they were introduced. Getting 20k or more is "exceptional" and I've been pleased with the wear of the Mich's with only marginal road noise increase as they get to that point.
Well I've rotated mine myself on my CD (fronts to back, and lefts to right and vice versa) without any issues, so I don't know what your OPC is on about. Maybe they want to sell you some new tyres.
The reason I did them lefts to right and rights to left was to try and cure a mild droning noise at around 70mph, which appeared before the swap. It didn't cure it, but the noise is ebbing away so I presume it's a wear-phase characteristic with the Michies.
It wouldn't, however, stop me from buying another four in future.
15k on this set and only half worn (mainly motorway and a bit of town).

Pretty sure my owners manual say front to back, back to front only.
This is what i have been going by.
Cayenne user manual - sentence in bold on the bottom right part of the page...
"Tires must always remain on the same side."

Cayenne tyres aren't directional, so unless the fact that there maybe some sort of braiding memory that builds up in the structure of the tyre, and reversing this could affect handling is a issue - I don't understand.
To amend an earlier statement: I had my dealer contact tech support to clarify the rotation (front to back) which they had originally told me was not possible. They have know corrected that position and indicate it is possible on CTT but not on CTTS. Would have been good info to act on several months ago...
