CTT 21" Replacement Tires

Anyone with Turbo II wheels (21") on their 958 CTT replace their tires yet and if so, what did you replace with? Anyone try some of the other than OEM choices and how did are they wearing, ride noise/sound, performance/ride?

I've found with my previous 955 CTT there was a HUGE delta in how different tires would ride, sound and last and had the best luck with Yoko Advans on the 20" Turbo wheels. I'm assuming there are similar issues with the 21" new wheels/tires.

Thanks - Dave

I had the Advans on my Cayenne GTS and they are the stickiest tire by far but as they started to wear out, the road noise started to increase too. Also, I didn't get much life out of my Advans (18K) vs the Michelin Latitudes I replaced it with. The Latitudes run much quieter, almost as grippy and has much better wet handling in my opinion. I got 32k out of my Latitudes with the same driving patterns.

even if you don't put oem equipment tires, you don't have many choices. conti, Dunlop, yoko, Pirelli, Michelin and vredestein.

I have factory Pirelli, they are ok I guess, because tires are new, I had those on my 911 turbo II wheels and the noise was a nightmare, Michelin pss is the best tire, for me I think, not sure if they have that size in the 21" good luck, avoid Pirelli and Dunlop

Do all 4 tires get replaced typically at the same time?
Do the fronts and the rears wear the same generally in the 958?

I've replaced all 4 at the same time on both CTT's and my 911TT and never had an issue. I think the 911 is the only one not to mix and match old v new

I think im in the minority, but I think my advans are a little loud from the beginning. im going to go with the Michelins next time even though I assume a little grip will be sacrificed.

If you have depth of at least 8/32 in 2 tires you can keep those 2 in the same axle and replace the other 2 without affecting the Diffrential, if the depth is 7/32 you have to replace all four.
OEM was conti and replaced them with conti on my CTT 2011.

Nice to see another member in the St. Cloud area. I will keep a look out for another CTT while going down the road

The Porsche dealer in Minneapolis told me there was another enthusiast in the area when they found out i was from St. Augusta.

I'm only at 21,500 on my '13 and my Pirellis are coming to the wear indicators... considering another brand since these feel pretty short on miles IMO, I very, very rarely drive aggressively.

New boots

After 20k miles I've just replaced the four 21" Pirellis on my 958 Diesel with Latitude Sports and so far I'm impressed. They are slightly quieter and feel grippy enough. OK, you pay top dollar for them, but I think they're worth it.

Maybe i'm off base here....but isn't 20k+ miles on 21" Pirelli's pretty darn good?

I wasn't complaining considering the fact that each tyre had supported over half a ton in weight over that distance, on what is believed to be relatively soft rubber. Early signs are that the Michies are going to beat that.

Like the Michelins allot - great grip, approaching 20k and looking good.

Cheers,
