Diesel: Low AdBlue warning

On the way home from our FL trip we got the AdBlue low warning. Since no one else has documented the experience, I thought I would.

The warning (see the attached image) popped up with a 1500 mile warning. When you clear it it puts the AbBlue warning icon on the bottom line of the MFD. It then shows the warning every time the engine is started.

The attached image was taken after only 100 miles from the original warning. Further more there was only another 500 miles left in the trip and by the time we got home it was reporting 500 miles left.

At 600 miles it flashed another "miles left" warning and after clearing it replaced the top line of the MFD with a milage count down (though it really only updated in 50 mile increments).

My final milage with "500" miles left was right about 12,600 which comes out to a rough estimate of 2500 MPG of the fluid.

I filled it up with a crush bottle I had on hand and will pick up a couple of 2.5 gallon bottles on the way to or from work this week to fill it back up.

Our numbers are pretty close. After recently adding 5.5 gallons to my tank - and assuming a six gallon tank - my driving style returned about 2450 miles to the gallon of DEF.
