Feedback Wanted: Cayenne GTS and Turbo
Feedback Wanted: Cayenne GTS and Turbo
Hi All --
We're thinkin' about getting a Cayenne GTS or Turbo. My wife and I wanted to get owners feedback on what they like/don't like about either and what other SUV's they owned before the Cayenne.
Thank you in advance!

We came from a Lexus RX 350. She loved it, I hated driving the couch on wheels and couldn't wait to sell it. Now I can make a turn without screeching the tires.
I've owned both and you can see in my signature which I prefer.
I think there is more of a difference then most realize regarding the suspension. I drive 110 miles daily in my SUV's and the difference presents itself quite fast. The Turbo is much more comfortable even in the low setting. The rebound rates on the GTS differs from the Turbo which makes the GTS more intuitive and aggressive in city driving and it compromises comfort cause of it. On weekend road trip getaways, my gf at the time would not ride in the GTS but after I went back to a Turbo she had no quarrels about riding in it even with my aftermarket 22's.
If you require comfort and endless torque on the freeway for passing, then the Turbo is for you. If you want something more in your face and something closer to the pedigree offered by a 991, then the GTS might be the better choice.
The only way I can compare it is the GTS being like a 991 GT3 and the Turbo being itself.
I can come from Cayenne Turbo S, Cayenne GTS, Cayenne Turbo, Range Rover HSE Supercharged, and Lexus LX570.
Goodluck with your decision, can't go wrong with either one.

Thanks for the great feedback! Keep them coming! We're leaning towards CTT.
I'm open to selling my '11 C4S privately, or if someone is willing to trade for CTT
I figured we got too many sports cars as it is and need a SUV. My C4S has low miles (PDK, 12K miles, CPO)

When I looked at both and drove both I enjoyed the deep rumble of the turbo vs the raspier note of the GTS. I think the GTS looks amazing with the sports package as standard but that can be optioned on the turbo as you probably know. I never get tired of the increased power that the turbo has and would like to get a flash to help with the turbo lag.
The comfort of the turbo is absolutely extraordinary as is the handling because I listened to everyone's advice on here and got the 2 important options for handling- PDCC and PTV. As they said, it is a must for this vehicle making a world of handling difference.
Fkim011 gave you a really nice comparison to go by.

GTS is plenty FAST and with great sound
I only know what I know. I traded a 2006 Turbo S for a GTS and I love it. I drive 110 miles to work andback each day and I let it rip. It rocks. And, with the family it can suddenly be very cushy. i also have a 911 4S, but the 14 Cayenne GTS is every bit as fun to drive.
Save the bread, get a GTS.

Hahaha the Lexus RX350 is the worst car of all time when it comes to tire screeches! Especially annoying in a parking garage!

Bought the CGTS and previously owned two Lexus LX570. Needles to say the CGTS is in a completely diff league. I drove RR Sport HSE and did not like it at all.
The CGTS has plenty of power and honestly I think it looks better than the CTT/S.
As someone said before, you will be happy either way.....Good luck

Have a '13 GTS myself and just passed 13k miles. It's been a great rig.. plenty fast IMO. I've owned two 997 Turbos and of course it isn't like that at all, but I never felt like I needed my SUV to have that sort of speed. The rumble of the NA V8 is wonderful and overall it just rides like a dream.
I've owned plenty of other SUVs and this of course this one takes the cake... handles very much like a car and I love that I can take corners like one, often surprising other vehicles who think they can hang on my bumper.
