High pitched Screeching sound when braking.

Hi guys, i noticed that my v6 958 started having very high pitched screeching sounds when i brake at certain speeds. The screechings are pretty obvious when for the first 5-8km, but it is not always the case. I tried braking at various speeds but it seems like the sounds are produced during intermittent braking as opposed to sharp braking at high speeds.

The milelage is at approx. 14000km.

Appreciate your advise. Thanks in advance!

if you take it to the dealer, they are going to say its normal. even in the manual, it states that brake noise is normal as they are high performance brakes.

Been told from a Cadillac dealer that this noise is normal in cars with majority city driving. A couple hard stops will help reduce this high squeak.

It's probably nothing; especially if you're only really noticing it at lower speeds or when the pads are cold. Like people above said, they're "performance" pads and they make a little more noise than you may be accustomed to.

It could also be a rock or something caught between the pad and the rotor. Sometimes that stuff will come out on it's own and others it won't. Also pop off your wheels and give your rotors a good look to see if there are any scratches as that would indicate something caught.

If it will do it at slow speeds, have someone be outside and see if you can narrow down the wheel(s) that it's coming from.
