HOiYA is infamous around these parts
Mine is plugged into the same 12V socket. I do have a Panorama G, which does have GPS. The product manual does say the dashcam goes into a "standby" mode after being parked for a min, so maybe that is it? Just checked mine after 30 min and it is off. But the Cayenne manual says that the 12V should shut off after 30min.

It is possible the two times I left the car thinking it would go out in ten minutes that I was gone for less than 30 mins. I went into Walmart once and was cooking dinner the second time .

I'll go try it again and wait over 30 minutes. I didn't find it in the manual. I'll look harder.

Thanks that did it. Waited longer. And actually I don't mind recording a little in the parking lot when I go in someplace...you know just in case some smart guy decides to push a shopping car my way (not that I would ever catch them).
