Hi all

Just picked up a 2010 (its a UK car) CTT and would like some advice regarding a couple of noises that the outgoing 2011 CD didn't make?

First is a very obvious screech in the tailgate area, sounds like a spare tyre in the wheel well under the floor rubbing against the body if you can imagine that, only my CTT doesn't have a spare, the well is empty baring the Burmester sub. I've retracted the load cover as the obvious one but it doesn't seem to be that, anyone ever have this noise?

Second is a groan from the steering column when turning right at slow speeds say 20mph and the lock needs to be near 1 full turn, when I turn back the groan stops? I recall a 955 CTT I had that did the same thing, is my steering rack on the way out?
