Does anyone know, with certainty, if the passenger footwell 12v socket actually turns off eventually? I have searched on here and have found many variations of different answers.

Some say no, some say after a short time, others say an hour or two. Any of those would be fine EXCEPT it not turning off.

I am considering using it to power a dash cam.

It turns off after 30 min. On the older 955/957, there were 2 sockets, one switched and one always hot.

There is only one on mine (one socket down there is blank). I plugged my iPhone charger into it and so far it is hot after an hour. Hopefully it cuts off at 2 or I will have to hardwire.

The 30min starts after you shut the door and the socket powers up again when you open/unlock the door. Just wanted to call that out in case you are tripping the power on again when you open the door

Guess this one is the always live socket. Car has been sitting for 2 hours and I still see the light on the charger. I didn't open any doors or trigger anything. Guess I will use the power magic pro and hardwire.

A 30 min cut off would have been ideal. Oh well. Thanks for the replies.

Did some more tests yesterday and it looks like it does shut off in 30 min. Not sure why it didn't the first day I tried. I didn't open the doors or anything, but maybe I left the key in the cup holder and that changed the logic (since it thinks you are in the car). Anyway, definitely turned off after 30 min several times yesterday.

you just saved me 30 mins

about to hook up a Power Magic Battery Pack after my battery went dead and needed replacement. originally had the magic pro but it still drained my battery to the point that i needed to jump start it. guess all the videos and sites stating the pro was not computable with Porsches were correct...
