lug size?

what size are the factory lugs? would these fit?

when you get new wheels, the lug size should stay the same, right? or does the thickness of the metal (wheel) varies among wheels requiring different size lugs?

Typically the standard hardware fits most aftermarket wheels in terms of length, sometimes they require less width or tooling to fit into the recesses for the lug bolts. Only time length is factored into situation is when spacers are being utilized.
As far as the ones you linked, you would need to verify against what you currently have in place.

The lugs shown in those pictures won't fit any factory Porsche wheels regardless of the length or thread pitch: Porsche uses curved / mushroom shaped shoulders not cone shaped as shown in the pictures.

thanks!! u just saved me from a lot of frustrations. Porsche uses "ball seat" instead of "cone seat". I will take the current one down to measure the length and order the correct ones.

For the 958 Cayenne - you'd want to look for:

Thread: M14x1.5

Seat: Ball

Head: 19mm hex

Thread Length: 36mm

Jason,

Could you answer a question for me? If a custom wheel was "cut" for a lug bolt shank if 27mm, what does that mean? I would assume the 36mm length would be too long for the wheel. Also, would you but able to use 5mm spacers with the 36mm length in said wheel (27+5 < 36)?

HoiYA - Typically the seller provides that sort of specific information on the specific set of wheels - but the only real way to see if the lug bolts will work is to have them measured out.

As far as using spacers go - as long as you have sufficient turns of the lug bolt after the spacer has been installed, you should be good to go.

can you look at a wheel to tell whether it's a cone or ball seat?

im pretty sure its M14x1.5, no Porsche uses M12. the only cars I can think of that uses M12x1.5 is the older mb's and bmw's.
