Rear Dash Camera

Hello fellow 958 owners!

I was wondering if any of you have rear facing dash cams. I was trying to plan a route for the USB cable but found problems in where to tuck it in, as well as where to mount it from the rear glass as the trunk opens quite wide which would make for very unsightly slack in the USB wire.

Prior experience would be great, pictures of your rear set up would be better!

Here is what I've did.

only remove trunk trip on that pics then put wier to that rubble. you need wire shielding like this link : http://www.stewmac.com/Pickups_and_E...iEOxoCKK_w_wcB

First time, I didn't shield my dash cam for rear, and I found dashcam 12V wire effect to remote key. so I couldn't lock/unlock the car in 3 meter....

so I used shield for that dash cam 12v, then It's solved. that's why I highly recommend using wire shielding.

then you can put wire like 2nd pics....

It's just 10-15min job.

Good luck!

THANK YOU i really appreciate it

how did you slide the wire underneath the left rubber boot. Did you push it through from inside the trunk ceiling area?

Just pulled down that ceiling trim. you don't need to remove whole ceiling. just little space and put your hand to grab wire that comes from top of sides.

What camera setup are you guys using. How are you connecting it to the head unit or are you using a separate display?

That looks like a BlackVue which has no display. Great system, I have the dr600 front mounted unit and love it (small and very stealth). You can view video on your iPhone (wifi) or put the chip in a viewer on your pc/Mac.
