Glove Box LED

Hello friends!

I have been spending a bit of free time researching all I can about the led conversions, which all seem pretty straight forward except for the glove box LED, which many 958 owners changing it to LED and have it not work, even after reversing the polarity. This would be no problem except I also saw incidents where putting the halogen bulb back in did not work either, and that there weren't any blown fuses.

Has anybody got to the bottom of what went wrong? Do you have to insert the LED with correct polarity the first time? And to those who burnt out the circuit, if that's the case, have you just lived with a lightless glovebox?

I converted both glove boxes on my Cayenne and Panamera without any issues, perhaps I installed both of them with the correct polarity first time.
In theory, you should not burn out the circuit with a reversed polarity. Electric current simply does not flow through when the polarity is reversed.

In theory, yes, which is why I found it weird that some people who installed LEDs for the glovebox light completely disabled it, making it not work even with going back to the halogen bulb.

this happened to me too when I changed the rear grab handle lights. no blown fuse but the halogen bulb didn't work either. I left the halogen bulb in and it worked a couple of days later. I then reinstalled the led and it worked this time. so just wait a couple of days and see.

Well I tested the polarity with a multimeter and installed it right the first time so no problems! thanks for the input though!
